VOLABIOS Project Hackathon, November 21–22

Mental health remains one of the most stigmatized areas in society, often discouraging individuals from speaking openly about their challenges or seeking the support they need. These difficulties impact not only those experiencing mental health issues but also their families.

On November 21–22, the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LSMU) Faculty of Public Health hosted the VOLABIOS Project Hackathon, bringing together specialists, students, and innovators to develop solutions aimed at improving the lives of people living with schizophrenia.

The event attracted strong interest from diverse fields. Over two days, 13 teams worked intensively to generate forward-thinking ideas — from virtual reality experiences that help users understand the realities of schizophrenia, to educational tools, to smart devices supporting timely medication adherence.📲

The hackathon showcased the power of collaboration between science, technology, and healthcare. The outcomes highlight the potential of the VOLABIOS Project to drive meaningful advancements in mental health support in Lithuania and beyond.
