The VOLABIOS consortium recently wrapped up an intensive, highly productive three-day meeting in Aachen! Building on our shared mission to revolutionize the early detection of schizophrenia through innovative biomarker research, this gathering was a masterclass in European scientific collaboration.
Led by our project coordinator, the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, this multidisciplinary European consortium demonstrated immense progress, strategic alignment, and dedication across all teams.
A huge, heartfelt thank you to our exceptional hosts at Uniklinik RWTH Aachen (UKA). Their outstanding hospitality and flawless organization provided the perfect backdrop for inspiration in such a historic academic city.
Key Highlights from the Meeting:
🧠 Multidisciplinary Science: Deep-dives into VOC-based biomarkers, clinical high-risk assessments, and advanced AI integration.
🛠️ Hands-on Collaboration: Interactive Work Package (WP) discussions and technology demonstrations bridging the gap between data science and clinical application.
📈 The Next Phase: Forging the concrete strategic roadmap for the critical months ahead.
With site recruitment accelerating and the project moving deeper into its clinical validation and data integration phases, the energy from Aachen will propel the entire team forward.
Thank you to all our brilliant researchers, clinicians, engineers, and industry partners for the open discussions, commitment, and teamwork. Together, we are moving VOLABIOS from a groundbreaking concept into real clinical impact.
